Global Entity for Human Race advancement

humanglobalentity Why don't we have a global entity that is doing research not for profit but for the advancement of human beings.

Sadly so many advances in the market are driven by economic's rather than real advancement.

We could make cures for many of the diseases, but sadly there are no economic incentives to do it.

Pharmaceutical companies have more incentive to treat cancer than cure it. So they will never advance to curing cancer or any of the major diseases.

So we need a global entity that can do research for the advancement of human race as a species and not worry about profits and economic feasibility.

For example if Elon Musk was given a few billion dollars, he could make the colonisation of Mars reality. But sadly he first has to build a profitable company before he can achieve this.

Once they find a break through they could license the technology to couple of companies to bring it to market at a reasonable price.

This could be funded through a patreon like a campaign. Where each month you could donate $1 for this cause. Even if 10% of the population funded it, we could generate 1 billion per year.

If we get more funding we could create contests where first person or company, to come up with an invention that is required could get a huge prize money.

Those who fund could even vote on the projects that needed to be worked on.

So is anyone up for it.

iPhone 6S is too costly

I own a iPhone 6. But i would never buy iPhone 6S at ₹62000. The iPhone 6S is ₹10000 more than last years model, this is only in India by the way.

When they are reducing the price of apps from ₹60 to ₹10 and Apple music subscription from ₹600 to ₹120 in India. How can they charge 10% more for the newer iPhone.

Its too pricy for me to justify the purchase.

So here are what i use my phone for.

Phone calls - less than 1 or 2 a day Apps - Occasionally Camera - I use this the most, i use it to record all my youtube video and edit them.

I could get a basic android phone for around ₹6000 and do phone calls and all the app stuff on it.

For camera and editing i could go for an iPod touch at 19000 Rs for 32 GB version. The only down side is it has no auto focus in video. iPad Mini is a good bet too, but little awkward to shoot videos.

I could buy an android phone with good camera instead of iPod touch. But i don't know any app like iMovie for android that can edit HD videos. iMovie is also free on iOS.

This setup wouldn't cost more than ₹25000.

This is how i will upgrade my iPhone next year.

How can you buy iPhone, don't you know about suicides

I really like to know what you use. Hope its not from one of these companies

Acer Inc Amazon.com Apple Inc BlackBerry Ltd Cisco Dell Google Hewlett-Packard Huawei Microsoft Motorola Mobility InFocus Nintendo Nokia Sony Toshiba Xiaomi Vizio

Also hope you don't own any of these BlackBerry, iPad, iPhone, Kindle, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

All of them were one time Foxconn Major customers.

How many other manufacturing companies working standards do you know about.

At least in this case you found about these practices and Apple is doing something to prevent it.

How many other companies are even talking about doing anything…

Google samsung manufacturing cancer.

The workers had to take samsung to court before they even apologised.

I am just saying that all the companies are guilty of doing it.

At least in my opinion Apple is doing something about it. Auditing, cutting contracts etc. If we start looking at stuff like this, we should stop using oil, clothes etc.

Don't even google how many issues oil has.

So i am trying to pick the lesser of the evil out there. I am willing to pay 20-30% more for my iPhone if all the workers were well treated and well payed.

But sadly that is not how this modern economy works. Thats the sad truth we all have to live with no matter which company we use.

Why is apple taking all the profits in mobile

They most efficient Manufacturing, R&D and Marketing Company. Manufacturing - They have almost perfected it, no technical flaws, products release on time not just a few, millions of them. Once they figure out the manufacturing they stick to that design for two years. Making more money of it. They get better manufacturing price, by lending loans to buy machines etc.

R&D - The are a lean machine, for how big the company is their R&D budget is tiny. They are willing to wait to get the product right, even if they have to delay the product. Look at iPad, Apple TV etc.

Marketing - They don't spend anywhere near the amount samsung and other spend on advertising. But where they spend they are very effective.

The are launching so many products and all of them are going without a hitch. Just an example, samsung edge was having issues with manufacturing. Apple has a new display and 3D touch with new electronics in display in the new ones but they are still breaking shipping records (all deliveries will be one time). They also have apple tv and iPad pro. both expected to sell few millions launching in few weeks. They have their manufacturing oiled up pretty well

All these add to make the margins bigger.
